Question Word App Shortcut & Start Gone Stupid

My MS Word Shortcut & Even in Start Menu ICON has gone stupid. Whenever I click them I get a POP UP that says: "This Action Is Only Valid For Products That Are Currently Installed".

I have MS OFFICE 2010 installed. Excell, Power Point, Visio,etc all work fine, However if I click on a Word Doc the application works just fine and runs OK. Any clue what is going on and how to fix?

the icon might be using a different office version. did you make some change?

What happens if you directly start the .EXE file from Office folder?

I am using 365, you might be onto something.

Try to start your Office components by doing a search for the program, such as Word, and then use the search result to open the app. If it works then right click on the app and click pin to start.

I have tried that and get the pop up error message. Excel and all th eother works fine, just Word does not work right. I can get Word to work if I open a Word Document.

The Shortcuts for Office/Word are a specific find of link MS calls a starter, which are constructed by Windows, obviously that link has become corrupted. I'm searching now, trying to find a way to reconstruct the link. FTF

Have you tried repairing Office Installation? Open Settings, Apps, click on Office 365, Modify, then either Quick or Online repair.
