Been trying for the past 2 weeks to get my newest machine working. It's a Core i7 2700k with an asus p8z68-v gen3 intel z68 motherboard. It has been a total pain to get working under Slackware. I tried Fedora as well. I've rebuilt the kernel several times, and I'm getting close to a break through. It's been long and tedious. This machine was supposed to be working a week ago. If your a Linux user, and your looking for a good board. DON'T GO WITH ASUS! I bought it; now I got to work with it. Just be prepared for many late nights, and a lot of coffee. I wish I would have done my research before buying this board.

Would have been better if you actually went to a linux community and ask what the most compatible parts are. Instead of randomly buying something and expecting it to work correctly right out of the box.

I believe drivers for the latest motherboards and devices are practically nil for linux when they are released, usually you have to wait 6 months to a year for that kind of thing.
