Hello,

I am aware that a windows computer (say windows xp pro) can have no more than 10 other windows xp pro machines connecting to one of its shared folders at a once. I believe this is to force users to use a domain...

But, if I have a linux machine with a samba share, does the same rule apply? Or could I have say...50 windows xp pro machines connect to it?

I do not care about user management, all of the client computers will be locked down.

No such limit with Samba. However, the hardware hosting Samba will place a practical limit on the number of simultaneous connections. The beefier the better.
