Build Advice Working computer stops booting once I hook up my SSD.

Just rebuilt my computer. This time around I'm booting from an M.2 drive. Everything works great. I turn it off and hook up my SSD, which I know is good because it's the same drive I've been using for years. Hit the power button, the RGB lights flash red once and then the whole thing goes completely dead. Unhook the SSD and it works again. What's going wrong? My only guess is that since the SSD also has windows on it it's causing the computer to hang up. With the SSD installed I can't get into the boot menu, it doesn't make it that far before crashing.

What happens the m.2 is disconnected?

Haven't tried since it's buried under the 3070. Is it possible the two drives are interfering with each other?

Possible. Seems like some boards take one of the sata ports for an m.2 slot.

Is the M.2 NVMe?
Have you tried several SATA ports?
If you can get to the bios with only the SSD attached, secure erase it with the tool in the last tab of the advanced bios.

It's SATA 3.
I have not as those are also buried, wanted to see if I could get an idea of what's wrong before wrestling that bear of a card out.
I'll give that a shot.

Well, I pulled the M.2 drive and tried the SSD in every SATA port, same issue every time.
