I built the PC about 10 months ago and it's worked like a charm ever since. After uninstalling a program and being advised to restart, I restarted the PC but it does no more than show the splash screen where the F2 and Del options are shown. The motherboard lights up but is ignored when I select either key. I switched it for a PS2 keyboard, but still no joy. If I remove the keyboard and reboot, it doesn't notice its absence, which I believe POST should detect. This makes me think it's not even getting to the POST state. What could be the cause?

The main hardware is:
ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero Wi-Fi Motherboard
Intel Core i9 9900KF Processor
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro CMW64GX4M4C3000C15 32GB (4x16GB) DDR4
MSI Radeon RX 5700 Gaming X 8GB
Cooler Master MasterAir MA410M Addressable RGB CPU Cooler
2 x Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD 1TB
Seasonic Prime Platinum 850W Power Supply

I figured it out. I was having trouble with a specialised mouse. It seems that POST detected it, but hung. Removed mouse and all is good again.
