Hello there,

I am new to the world of desktop computing and really want to get into using a desktop for my college and personal needs.

I am looking to build more of a workstation than a gaming PC as I am going to be working with sound , video , animation and 3d modeling. Programs like the entire adobe suite, cubase, 3d studio max, reaper, wall of sound etc...

The budget is around 900-1200 euro , this is to be a starting point just to let you know , I just want to have it built by the end of this year and save up each year to upgrade it till I have a near future proof system at some point.

Also can you try and fit a mouse and keyboard into this. This doesn't have to be anything amazing as I don't need to game on this so something like just your usual keyboard and mouse is perfect , if need be I can always add better components later this year, so put a good mouse and keyboard as well if you want.

Thanks alot ,
Philip

P.S. I do plan on doing something like system on an SSD and personal storage on a regular HDD for now.

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (€140.00)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (€135.90 @ Home of Hardware DE)
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (€96.90 @ Amazon Deutschland)

Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card (€217.91 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Case: Cooler Master Elite 334U ATX Mid Tower Case (€39.93 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Power Supply...
CPU - Unlocked i7. Overclock as you please...
CPU Cooler - You could also go with the D15, but the D14 will have no issues keeping an overclocked i7 cool.
MB - Two open memory slots and three open internal SATA ports.
MEM - Standard DDR3-1866 CL10 modules.
GPU - The GTX 770 below is a great deal at the moment. 4GB of memory and amazing speeds. This is a bit of overkill for you, but may negate an upgrade later going from 2GB of memory now to a 4GB GPU later... The GTX 760 / 960 would also be good options.
PSU - The EVGA below is a nice unit and is overkill, but at its current price is a great pickup.
