I recently purchased this game and so far I've played two tournaments
and four sit-n-goes (all off-line). The hands almost feel to me like
they're scripted rather than random. I don't really have any definitive
proof ... but I've played a lot of poker in my lifetime and things just
don't seem right.

Does anyone else feel similarly?

Is this game available on the PC platform, also?

The offline game is so horribly boring, I can't make myself play it for more
than a couple of hands...so I'm not sure on that. You need to jump online
with it...that's where it's at on that game.

Not sure if it's available on PC, but it's on GBA...oddly enough...

I got rid of this game after realizing how easy it was for people to cheat
online...and after experiencing all the cheating. What a waste.

How the hell do you cheat in poker online?

The game allows you to lose all your money, leave the table, and then it
asks you if you want to save your progress(!!!), if you say no, go to the
main menu and reload your profile, all your money is back. This allows
morons online to go all-in on every single freakin' hand. And if they lose,
they just go back out, get their money back, and come back in. Ruined the
entire online game (the offline game stinks).

It's interesting that you bring up that 1k thing....because, that's what you
start out with, I believe, on WCP...if you loose all of that, you can just
reload the game...much like the PC poker you're playing gives you another 1k. 😉

It can be annoying, there's no doubt in that...but like in all Xbox Live games,
you do run into people who actually want to play...who do take it somewhat
seriously. In other words, it's not all just punk-ass kids running it, going
all-in, then busting, and coming right back(though this will happen pretty
frequently on some of the lower-end tables).

At any rate, it's still a solid, fun poker simulation...but definitely has its
issues....for $20 though, it's worth it. :)

Well, you can set up something similar to that...just mess with the settings
right before you create the table. For example, I generally create tables that
people can enter if they have more than $500, but no more than $3k. You can
move this up or down to your liking....it helps to keep the punk-asses out who
are just looking to double their money on their first hand, then run.

Well, there are tournaments you can play in, online...

I think it sounds great...and for the most part, it's kinda there...just not so
organized as you've described. Problem is, on the Xbox, Xbox Live more
specifically, there are only 3 choices in terms of online poker: WCP, High
Rollers Casino and Bicycle Casino. Of the three, WCP is definitely the best
from what I hear. Personally, I'd love to see Sierra bring out another Hoyle
Casino game...one where you can walk around the casino, making it kind of like
a PSO-like lobby...you could watch games in progress, talk to others, etc. I'd
also definitely have an auto-save thing going on...and were you to bust, it'd
give you about $50 to start over with...
