World Of Tanks Causes PC Crash

I posted a similar thread before but now I have more information and this thread is to only be relevant to the world of tanks (WOT) game. After upgrading my PC I am now having issues with world of tanks. I have freshly re-installed windows 10 after the upgrades to ensure there were no drivers issues. Essentially I think it is something to do with WOT and my geforce GTX 1080 or my motherboard drivers. I say this because I can run battlefield 3 or 4 and also played the battlefield one beta with no crashes on ultra settings.

After many conversations (which I can post the dialogue from) back and forth with wargaming support I found that I can run WOT on minimal or low settings with no problems, but when I go to higher settings I usually get about 1 round in before my whole computer crashes and reboots itself. Any help is appreciated but believe me when I say it is not a power supply or temperatures issue I have been down that road plus battlefield which is way more CPU and GPU intensive runs great. Specs of my PC listed below.

Whocrashed was a mere options to figure out what was the cause. This software should not having any compatibility issue, regardless of the Windows version people used. It simply display your crashdump report. And that's it.

In my post before, I was talking about the game launcher itself. I'm under the assumption that it might be some compatibility issue due to some upgrade you made. I'm aware I might sound ridiculous saying this. But believe me, I've seen even more odd issue and resolve.

I'll say it again, try tinker with compatibility on the launcher. Administrator privilege, or certain windows version. See what happens.
Ever considered some important files to run the game at higher settings are missing? Either the game itself or some DirectX files, or even some corrupt stuff.

Get a small software named WhoCrashed to figure it out, that might help.

Hi Rush,

Yes, I have tried re-installing the game. Running an integrity check on the game, re-installing directx. Re-installing windows and my GPU drivers. Checked the event viewer to find nothing. I had not tried an external program like you said, but I did that last night. I am not sure if I don't know how to properly use it or if my pagefile is not large enough. Because according to the website for this WhoCrashed software it said your page file needs to be the same size as your RAM allocation. I have 32GB of ram but my pagefile is set to 4GB. I ran this program and intentionally had the game cause a crash then opened this program up and hit analyze and got nothing back as if windows didn't create a memory dump. As I am not familiar with this program do you know for sure the pagefile has to be the same size as the RAM? I'm asking because rarely do I get over 5GB of RAM usage when I am monitoring it using hardware monitor open source software. That and Windows 10 by default has the pagefile set to 4GB on my system so I assumed that was ok. As always I appreciate the help I get in this forum!

I see. Now I understand your confusion.

Perhaps some compatibility issue with Win10 itself? Ever tried to change the game launcher .exe to run at certain version of Windows? Perhaps even elevated command as administrator?

I remember having some odd game launcher that can only run if I set the setting at WindowsXP SP3 while having Win7 64, can't remember what the name of it. Otherwise it would just crash.

I assume you are specifically talking about the game and not Whocrashed? I would agree with you but I was running the game fine on windows 10 until I upgraded my machine. I did not re-install windows 10 until after the upgrade assuming I had some driver related issues causing the crash, I figured the best solution was to format and install a fresh copy of windows 10. This obviously did not help.

I would like to go back to the WhoCrashed software, do you know of any issues with that software and windows 10? Or is there something I am not understanding about the software? If I could pinpoint where the issue was at this process would be a lot easier to solve I believe.

Thanks
PG
