Well, on the bright side, now that people who don't like leveling can pay to skip it, maybe they'll make it interesting again. I can dream, right?

this was a terrible idea and completely ruined the game for me. I still enjoyed World of Warcraft but this is just a straight no holds bar'ed cash grab

I bet those Wow power levelers are going to be screwed.

I had several 80s in WoW, but I stopped playing at the end of Wrath, the game really went down hill, I liked the game most during Vanilla and TBC. WoW isn't really worth playing anymore in my opinion, probably a way to make cash before it goes down further subscription wise.

Activision Blizzard announces the latest in cash shop goodness....BUY A HERO TO FIGHT FOR YOU!!!That's right, do you miss Turalyon or Alleria or any of the old Warcraft hero's we have completely ignored in World of Warcraft? Well now you can pay us only $500 and you can have your favorite lore NPC fight for you while you sit back and do NOTHING BUT WATCH! That's right, you no longer have to actually play the game at all!

What are you guys complaining about? It's the player's choice to rapid level for $60. They won't really enjoy the character due to instant gratification. They will get bored and leave. More room for other players.

There is one good side to this, if you want to get alts up immediately then it would be great.

Id love to be able to describe with words how idiotic this move is in the long run for Blizzard as a company, but unfortunatelly there are no words in elvish, orcish, common or ENT languages to express my dissapointment.I assume activision screwed up Blizzard far more than i Expected.

I am pusled how in the world they get 20/12/2014 become in the fall. yes it does say it can come out early, but since when have blizzard been able to get it out before the early release date?

"Garrosh Hellscream has escaped to the past and united with his father Grommash, fierce leader of Warsong clan. Together they are forging the orc clans of Draenor into a savage war machine."Why can't I take this seriously? It looks like aprils fools already!

This is a feature with both pros and cons. It really helps those, who just wants to join there friends which have always been playing. Also, if someone always have wanted a specific character to play with at these lvls, but really can't find the time to get that character to lvl 90. However it's unfair for the people who have used years climbing a character to lvl 90 and struggling to get the appropiate gear. I believe it could go both ways for Blizzard and the amount of players.

With every expansion, Blizzard makes leveling through earlier content easier with more buffed account-bound gear, XP requirement adjustments, mob XP adjustments, mob HP/armor adjustments so players can kill them quicker, quest adjustments so they can be turned in quicker, etc.

With every expansion, your shiny uber-purples from the past expansion endgame 25-man raids instantaneously become worthless with stats barely exceeding the first greens you pick up in the new quest zones.

Basically, Blizzard has already been wiping the table on endgame players with every expansion.

For players who are still into this game, getting immediately to 90 isn't a bad thing. When the game first came out, hitting 60 was a big deal, and when the first epics started rolling in, that was even bigger. I don't think many players would prefer to grind to 60 in Classic, then start an even longer process of getting to max level.

If you started playing now, you have missed so much content it becomes annoying as you level through it so fast and things that took 25 people take 2 shots to kill. At least straight to 90 for new and most likely 2 professions maxed to 600 for older players that have lvl 60 chars, has its appeal. Love it or hate it, its still the most played mmo with no dodgy in game adds or pay to win ability like a lot of the new stuff being created.

I love how for the last, what, four or five years, every announcement Blizzard does about WoW instantly becomes "the end of the game" and, here we are, with the game still being one of the most played (only second to LoL now I guess...) and making Blizzard huge amounts of cash. People talks as if Blizzard didn't knew what they're doing, of course they do, they're a business and a damn good one on what they do.

So, they talked to people who decided that level 90 was a long grind through a lot of content and decided, "let's turn this to our advantage and make it a service so people can avoid over exposure to the putrid culture of the game-world". No wonder so many developers want to cash in on the MMO genre. If you can get a player-base, you are made. Why has nobody beyond Rift used loyalty rewards where players pay a reduced fee for buying longer periods? Surely, if you pay a subscription, the rest should be in the game. The attitude of some of these developers to their clients is appalling. Look at Elder Scrolls Online, launching at a premium price and with a subscription model. Trouble is, seems that the real world offers so few opportunities for cooperation that a lot of people are prepared to pay to access virtual worlds where they can be equally estranged from one another.

A full blown micro transaction system plus monthly fee. No way I would play this game ever again. Blizzard will loss a huge number of long term subscribers. Possibility of getting new players is limited due to the price of the game with expansions. A game for the rich short term player. No thanks.

I think it is more like people paying for level-up services elsewhere to level up their characters in their place was a too common ban offense that cost Blizard many accounts so they decided to offer an official alternative - you may be able to find a Chinese who will do 1-90 for $30 but the process will still take at least a week and may still get your banned or you can pay Blizzard $60 to get an instantaneous risk-free lv90.

The math is pretty simple for people with jobs and other obligations:
- grind 100+ hours for 1-90 that they either have already done too many times already or do not care much about
- work their IRL job 2-5 extra hours... or 1-3 extra overtime hours
