Hello,
I must warn you that I have very little to no understanding of acronyms for any technologies past 2009-ish. I am mostly a software person not a hardware person, so think...Computers for Dummies.
I have been playing Warlords of Draenor since May 2016 and updated my graphics card from the XFX Radeon HD 4350 to the AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series at the beginning of July 2016. I have done raids, dungeons, pvp, and questing (as solo, x-realm and guild parties) prior to the change of graphics cards I was running about 3-10 fps in raids and 25(ish) fps in the world zones. Doing raids prompted the need for a graphics update SO a friend of mine gave me his AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series (hand me down) and I installed it in my computer, he also gave me a new power supply which has M12 Bronze II on the side of it to assist in the handling of the new card.
NOW, here's my issue: About 2 weeks ago, there was a server crash (EVERYONE got dc'd on Mal'Ganis realm) and since then WoW will randomly, and I mean randomly, stop responding. This happens in raids, dungeons, solo questing, party questing (both same realm and x-realm), logging in, and while on flight paths. There is no timer associated with the crashes, one time I did 4 LFR back to back with no issues then whilst in the 5th LFR *boom* it stops responding when clicking on loot. The ONLY WAY to get out of this is to (using my dual screen set up) alt+tab, open task manager on the 2nd monitor (because the primary monitor will not "let go" of WoW), then end task. I have repaired using the battle.net software and uninstalled/reinstalled World of Warcraft and the battle.net software, but to no avail. It still randomly crashes.
Please help, I am at a complete loss. I did grab a dump file upon one of the crashes, but I don't know how to open it...only how to locate it. I have no issues with ANY other software including other Blizzard games, JUST World of Warcraft.
Thank you,
Ehreekuh
P.S. if you ask me to post something like my set-up build, please be specific on how to do it =)
