Okay, I uploaded a server application to my hard drive for my other computer to run. The other computer did not seam to recognize the iOmega 1tb hard drive. So I tried multiple ports. Still no sound. So I plug it back into my main computer to see if it's the hard drive. My heart drops. No sound at all. I tried every single usb port. I Googled my problem and seen a post "Check for bent pins" I look closely into the usb slot in the hard drive and there is no bent pins. As I take a breath I realize that my hard drive smells burn't. I still don't want to belive that it burned out. I have over 600gb of files on it that our IMPORTANT. Years of my work.. Gone.. I should have backed up. Now before this I plugged a mouse into the other computer and it is suddenly windows on every other computer does not regognize the device. I figure that the computer destroys USB devices. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can maybe fix this? Get my stuff back? Please? I'm begging the whole community to give me the suggestions and I will try every one of them including smashing my other computer :p

EDIT:
I just felt the hard drive and the disk is spinning.

Solution
It could just be the enclosure. Reccomend you find a repair shop that can transfer the drive to a new enclosure.

And remember to allways back up important data. ;)

WOOOOOOOOOOOohooo I opened up my external hard drive, took the HDD out, plugged it in my computer, and bam! I got 100% of my files back. I'm soon going to purchase a dedicated server and I'm going to store my important stuff on their while using it to run servers!!!
