worth a new CPU?

When I play WoW at the start my CPU useage shoots up to 96%-100% when i have the battlenet app/launcher up this has only started to happen the last 3 days it never normally does. When i close these battlenet appilcations it drop back down to 30-50% even with chrome and other things open.

I've been thinking about getting a new CPU since I only have a Intel Core i5 4590 and my motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3, what would be a decent upgrade?

A i5 4590 should be more than enough for Wow, I think it only uses a few threads I doubt getting something like an i7 4790k would help much in that particular game.

Im not sure why you usage is so high, an initial spike is normal but if it sits around 90% usage in wow I would say thats a bit abnormal. What is cpu usage idle at the desktop doing nothing?

Your CPU is fine for WoW, no need to upgrade it. I know blizzard added some recording features, not that long ago. I would check and make sure those are not accidently turned on.
