Worth buying gtx 1060/1070?

Im planning to buy a new gpu. Confused between gtx 1060 & 1070. I know 1060 & 1070 performance gap is big. Im just worrying if 1070 bottlenecks my CPU.

Note - Im not going to upgrade my monitor. Currently using 1080p.

The 1060 and 1070 would be fine with your CPU. If you look at £ per FPS then the 1060 (or RX-480) represent better value for money, at 1080p with current generation games the 1070 represents a luxury purchase. However, I tend to believe you should get the best GPU you can afford because down the line it will offer more head room. If you decided to get a 1440p monitor in a couple of years your 1070 would run things simply better than the 1060.

You'd be a candidate for the RX 470 or even the 460. Sounds like you will be holding a 1080p 60hz monitor for a bit longer and these would even work for 144hz at 1080p with only occasional issues without freesync. Yes, a 1070 now will make a transition to 1440p painless, however, 1440p is not the market focus or future, even immediately, it's a quick stop-gap before 4K. Most people will be upgrading within a few years to inexpensive 32"ish 4K/144hz ISP displays that may do both free and gsync and will naturally display everything to a user friendly size. By then, the 1080 equivalent cards which today can (just) handle 4K, will be under $150.
