Question Worth having 24 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz?

Hello guys, i just purchased a Asus Z97 K and now i am runing on 16 GB DDR3 1600Mhz on dual chanel with a 1660Ti and i7 4790K.
I still have left behind in my hardware closet 2 slots each of 4 GB ddr3 1600Mhz (8GB). Worth using them at this setup? Or better sell them?

I've used mixed ram 2x8GB 1866 and 2x2GB 1600 without issue, but I did not see any benefit from it at all.

I would rather overclock that K CPU

If you have it in your posession, having more memory won't hurt.
16GB is more than enough to me but it comes down more to personal opinion.

Here is how you can find out. Run a benchmark, both general like PCMark and a gaming one. I run them 3 times with reboot between each run, average the scores. Install the new RAM, repeat benchmarks. Are the scores with more RAM better? You have your answer after that.

That is also a good idea. Actualy i already installed the memory ram and after 1 hour of BFV the ram consumption in game reached 12.5 GB, until now the Riva tuner statistics in game overlay never showed more than 11.5 Ram usage. Now my curiosity will be satisfied completely only after trying your idea LOL.
