Question Worth the price? i5 3570 -> ? | i7 4790k vs i5 8400F| with 980

I'd like to upgrade my PC because as i see the CPU is not enough for my graphics card which is an EVGA GTX 980. So the question is here : Should i buy an old i7 4790K or should i upgrade to i5-9400F ? used i7 with mobo and rams around 200$, brand new i5 with mobo and rams around 270$


I'd like to play Apex legends Fullhd 144Hz
