Worth the upgrade for Faster RAM for editing

Good morning,

I am a free lance video editor who uses Adobe Products like Premiere pro and After Effects daily, however I have been on a very limited budget.

I am looking to have less active render time when scrubbing through my timeline, as I find that after going back to edit a section, I have to let it play until that section is rendered. Then I go back to another and repeat the process. I was told that RAM could help with this, as it will keep more frames rendered while scrubbing through.

I currently have 1 8gb 1600mhz DDR3 Crucial Ballistix Sport dimm, and I am curious to know if it's worth it to upgrade to a 1866mhz set of 16 gb. My motherboard supports it, (MSI A78 m-E35) but I don't know if it makes more sense to take that extra money and instead keep saving for a better cpu. The other option is I get an identical dimm of the one I currently have, saving me another $40 from buying an extra dimm. Will the performance gain be noticeable?

16gb would help for sure , ditch the old 8gb module.
Identical dim may not work go with the 16gb kit.

Yes, But is it worth the upgrade for 1866 mhz? What does peed help with?

You still have to buy a kit , so get the 1866 .

A new single 1600 module may or may not work even if identical.
