[SOLVED] Worth the upgrade?

So at the moment I’m running an i7-7700 with 16GB DDR4 3000MHz and a 1060 3GB.
So far, the 1060 has been running well for the past 2 years, but temps are getting hot and it’s a slight bit underperforming.
I thought about watercooling it with the Kraken G12 so that I can keep her going for at least a few more years (money isn’t an issue, but upgrading seemed not very wise: I mostly watch yt and play things like minecraft, gta, gmod and sometimes even roblox. This is all at 1080p and 75FPS).

So after some mindless browsing on my local second-hand marketplace, I found 2 GTX 1080’s with SLI-bridge included for a total cost of €700,- (being €350 per card, the SLI-bridge is a free extra). Some quick research showed that one of these new costs around €900,- which is €200,- more than the offer of the 2 1080’s.

So I’m not wondering if I should upgrade but I’m wondering if this upgrade would be worth it for my current situation...

(I also remembered that I’ll have to look for a new powerfull PSU too)

SLI Doesn't really boost gaming quality because its dividing the work on 2 GPU rather than running both at max so 1 is enough for all your gaming needs and of course roblox

The reason why a 1080 cost 900 is because it doesn't sell anymore. Do not buy SLI 1080. SLI isn't worth it. For 700 EURO you can get a 2080 Super.

Ok.
But do you think that my 1060 would keep up for a decently long time? Hardcore gaming isn’t the one thing on my agenda all the time anymore. Just some casual simple games.
It’s not like I’m planning on playing some super demanding AAA titles (maybe RUST, but that’s not very demanding if I’m correct).

Maybe I’ll watercool it with a Kraken G12, for lower temps. (and mostly just to have a little modding-project in my quarantine ). If I ever upgrade, I’ll just have to find a card that’s compatible with the G12.
