I have an i5 4690k and an r9 280x xfx edition that I got for a good price. It is a good card but I'm looking to completely switch to pc gaming and I'm thinking about upgrading from an r9 280x to either a gtx 1060 3gb or 6gb or gtx 1070. I'm not a big fan of vr but I want performance. Is 250$ and 380$ price worth upgrading to since a new Xbox one is 250$. I really need some advice on this.
Thank you

Very hard to answer this question w/o a given monitor resolution as "guessing wrong" means an inappropriate answer.

At 1080P, 1070 > 30% faster than 1060 > 7% faster than a 1060 3GB > 57% faster than 280x.

or...

1070 = 131% faster than R280x
1060 6GB = 59% faster than R280x
1060 3GB = 48% faster than R280x

Well depends on what you honestly want to do. If you want to stick with console gaming and an entry to 4K, get the Xbox one S. If you want to upgrade your GPU, you will not be able have a stable 4K gaming experience with the 1070, that is why the 1080 is here. However, if you have a 1080p monitor and you don't plan upgrading anytime soon, get the GTX 1060 6GB. Most Xbox games are also on PC as well. You will be able to max settings on 1080p with that card.

Again, you have options.
