Well, you have an AM3+ motherboard. The thing is the 8100 is an old core, and there are much better ones such as the 8320. These are still relatively cheap, and can be overclocked past many of it's higher ups, which are essentially (I'm not to up to date on my AMD's) the same chip with a higher clock rate. Seeing you have an OC board, I presume you are using it. Also, why a 280?
Isn't it the best choice for a mid range this one or the GTX 670 ?
I hope you are talking about the 970, not the 670.
Heres a link the the comparison. The 290 appears to be on par with the 970, though it can beat it if overclocked, and can benefit the 970 in the same respect. The 280 is really a dead market. The normal upgrade is from a 265 or 270 to a 290, as cost wise, it's fairly indifferent, with the 280 filling a very niche market that doesn't really show very much. Go for a 970 or a 290.
