worth upgrading from a gtx 970 to a gtx 1080 ti?

So im planning on upgrading my GPU and im currently using a Gigabyte gtx 970 3x windforce oc edition. Is it worth it to get a 1080 TI for 1080p 144hz gaming or would it be better to get a 1080 or 1070 ti

If your keeping your monitor for awhile then the 1070 ti is good but if your upgrading your monitor soon then consider the better GPU.

Which gpu depends how high you want to push the settings while keeping as close to 144fps as possible (assuming the rest of the system can keep up).

Ok good there. Generally the 1080Ti is considered over the top for 1080p but it actually cannot hold a minimum of 144fps in some games if you insist on running max settings. Is it worth it, probably not, the few extra FPS or game settings won’t matter to most. Either the 1070Ti or 1080 are good choices, depends on the price, budget and how fussy you are with game settings and FPS.

Yeah, 1080Ti is best for 1080p 144Hz. Wont get 144fps in quite a few titled but will be closer than 1070Ti/1080.

Look at Browse GPU17 Benchmarks and select directx 11 and then field below choose a game benched at 1080p. Most are under 144fps at decent quality settings.

Maybe wait till next gen cards.
