[SOLVED] Worth upgrading this setup?

Hey guys,

Ive been thinking about upgrading my GPU recently...

My current setup: CPU: I7 4790K
MBO: Gigabyte Z97x Gaming 5
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970

Is this setup worth upgrading to something like RTX 2070 Super or should I wait for a bit longer
and make a completely new build with the newer generation CPU, MBO, RAM and so on?

General recommendation is to upgrade only, when you need it.
Does your system struggle with some type of workload?
What exactly is the issue? What do you want to improve?

I am using a 1440p monitor and it can´t really handle newest titles on higher settings in this resolution...

Then GPU upgrade would be in order.
Note - RTX 2070 Super recommended PSU is 650W. You may need to upgrade yours.
Also upgrade ram to 16GB and get SSD for your system.

Are you noticing stutters aswell during gameplay under such resolution? if so you might need a new CPU too, preferably 6 or more cores.

RTX 2070S are great but quite pricey, are you interested in Radeon graphics? if you do, i'd recommend RX 5700 XT that you can find mostly under $450.

I have EVGA Supernova G2 which is 750W so that´s ok... yeah I was also thinking about RX5700 XT but I can get better price for the 2070 S but I´ll think about it... I guess I haven´t really noticed major stutters with the CPU... it´s still a beast but I am not sure if it wouldn´t bottleneck the new GPU ...

WORTH is something only YOU can determine.

Likely, a graphics upgrade is in order.
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

Ok I did some tests and watched some benchmarks and I guess the CPU shouldn´t be a problem... so I´ll probably take this one:
