Dear all, I recently upgraded my PC with existing SSD to:

- ASUS STRIX Z370-H
- HyperX Fury (2x, 8GB, DDR4-2133)
- RTX 2080 TI
- Intel 8700K

I got huge FPS drops in many games like Far Cry 5 and I upgraded again to:

- ASUS ROG Strix Z390-H Gaming (LGA 1151, Intel Z390, ATX)
- Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x, 8GB, DDR4-3000, DIMM 288)

This helped a lot. FPS drops are gone now, but not as stable as expected.

But my question is (as I am able to return the hardware for free) if it helps getting more and stable FPS even with a new RAM, i.e. DDR4-3866 RAM?

Kindly appreciate your help.

Thanks

Nope, the difference would be very minimal for for a big difference in cost. I would adjust the settings slightly lower to minimize FPS dips.
I wouldn't be worried about getting rams that are higher spec'd. You could try overclocking the rams to DDR4-3200MHz but that's all I will suggest. You're good as is.

What is the make and model of your PSU? Are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard?

When you upgraded all those parts, did you do a clean install of Windows?

If not, then drivers for the previous motherboard, etc., can cause some issues - Windows will install the new drivers, but there's a lot of clutter there from the previous install.

many thanks for your kind answers. So I will not do any further update of RAM.
