Worth upgrading to a GTX 1070?

Hello - I'm wondering if it's worth it to upgrade my GPU to a GTX 1070 from a GTX 680 as I'm currently yielding less than ideal performance on a few recent games (Doom, Forza Horizon 3, Division to name a small sample). I'm typically running these games on 1080p, low settings, hovering at around 60 FPS but I'd like a bit more graphical fidelity and a smoother experience. It would appear that my CPU is not currently bottlenecking me for what I'm playing, but I'm nowhere near as savvy as this community. I'm on a 1080p 60 hz monitor, but have my system linked with my 4K TV, and I'll likely purchase a 1440p 144 hz gaming monitor next if the GPU upgrade is substantial. Below is a list of what's currently comprising my system:

CPU - intel i7 2600K (seems fine, I can OC this to 4 Ghz + if necessary)
GPU - GTX 680 2GB
RAM - 16GB DDR 3 1600 (Can likely purchase some more/better RAM here as well, if necessary)
SSD - 500 GB Samsung
Power Supply - Seasonic S12II Series S12II 620 Bronze
Mother Board - Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Some thoughts / input from the experts here would be greatly appreciated as upgrading the GPU seems a bit more feasible than a bottoms up new rig; I'd likely re-purpose the GPU downstream anyways so this isn't an unnecessary expense for an upgrade path. Happy holidays!

The Cpu Will Not Be A Problem For Fhd Or QHd ( If U Lower A Little Ur Settings IN Qhd :) )

It Is Worth It :0 The Upgrade From 680 To 1070 Is A Huge Upgrade With A Noticable Improvements :)

Ram Is Fine For Now :) U Should Go For DDR4 If U Wanna Get More Fps :/ But For Now U cant go For DDr4

And Other Things Sound To Be Compatible Such As Ur Psu And Ur Mobo

Oh Just Dont Forget If U Planned To Overclock Ur Cpu ( U Need To For Qhd ) So U Should Afford A Better Cooling System Than Ur Stock Fan ;)

Regards :)

Well first off, I would consider upgrading that CPU first, which means you may have to upgrade that motherboard. The 1070 is worth it if you get teh 1440p. If you don't, then get the GTX 1060 as it is a beast at 1080p on max settings. That i7 is still able to perform, but it could be holding back without an upgrade. Just a recommendation.

TL;DR: If you are getting a 1440p monitor, get the GTX 1070. If you are sticking with 1080p, get the GTX 1060.

He will be unable to get DDR4 RAM with that motherboard. Also, that CPU doesn't support DDR4. Also FPS is measure by the speed of the RAM.
