I've had this 670 for a while and it's been great. It didn't seem worth it before to upgrade to 780 but how about the 970? I don't want to run at an crazy resolutions. Just 1920x1080

If it didn't seem worth upgrading from 670 to 780 to you then I am afraid it will be the same for 670 to 970. 970 is about 5% faster then 780, not much of a difference there. The selling point for some people might be its extremely lower power consumption and newer features like DX12 support and MFAA etc

I have the same card, but two of them running in SLI powering the Dell 30'inch monitor. I've been contemplating the same thing, however, after reading about 970/980 cards, I've concluded there aren't benefits until DX12 is available late next year with Windows 10. I believe it'll be a waste of money. I would say hold off until later next year when possibly another card is released (maybe GTX 1K series?) with matured DX12 support and games that actually support the new tech next year.

I have a galaxy gtx 670 2gb only GC overclocked. Its a smokin card but limits itself to only 2gb of ram. If ur FTW version has 4gb... ur really smokin. More ram is better. The rest of the features on the card are screamin fast. Crank the fan to 70% @ 60c and 80% @ 72c, using galaxy extreme tuner plus. That way ur card wont slow down. It is super smokin on a single 1080p.
