The PC world changes constantly. If you are willing to wait, you can wait forever. There is always something new right around the corner.

I'm waiting for a couple of things. Mainly PCI Express and the next generation of graphics cards, possibly the proliferation of 64bit CPUs as well. But, I've got a decent machine that would probably last me another year at least before *needing* an upgrade.

In the mean time, I'm content to read about the pleasure/horror stories of 'bleeding edge' prosumers, and their jaunts with all this new stuff.

its always tough waiting, as soon as you buy something "top of the line" its not so top of the line shortly after and you find yourself always wanting more.

I heard that most agp 8x cards dont fully use the bandwidth that the slot alows then to use.... pci express is just a bigger bandwith....

I agree with tatu, PCI express will only be usefull when add in cards can take advantage of it. Remember when Nvidia released the thier line of Ti's with agp8x support, the performance increase there was negligable.

I do not really care about the PCI express for the Graphic Card. I am more interest in the PCI express that is going to replace old PCI bus. A few cards on my PCI bus need a lot bandwidth and PCI bus cannot provide enough bandwidth for all of them.
