Would 550w PSU be good for R9 280X?

I want to know if I can run the new card from AMD R9 280X with my 550w PSU.
Now I have Nvidia 560Ti with 3 HDD and it runs good.

Should I upgrade the PSU too or it's ok?

A high end system paired with a R9 280X should consume no more than 300w total. That 550w PSU should do quite nicely!

the gpu consumes 250w so 550w should b fine as total would b around 450w - 500w well under psu max wattage
but the psu should b of good quality

Before upgrading to 780ti, I had my 670 with OC on a 400w for 1.5 years... you will be good.
