would a 500W PSU work on this build?

I'm making my first build soon and was wondering if a 500W PSU will work instead of the more expensive 550W I've currently selected. i am planning to do some overclocking only on the CPU and GPU.

If you are planning to overclock both gpu and cpu i woudn't go under 600w psu with those parts

That is already a cheap, poor quality PSU. You want a betetr one to begin with.
Also, do yourself a favour and do not invest in that dead AMD platform. Even an i3 6100 would serve you better by miles.

No, it will not work. Why corsair VS PSU?
if you have some money, go grab a high quality 600w PSU rather than low end corsair VS series. Especially if you planned to overclock your CPU and GPU.
