Hi guys, would this motherboard fit into this setup? Thanks

I7 6700k
16gb ram
GTX 1080
650w power supply (any brand)
ASUS ROG Strix B350-F Motherboard

If not, what would be the best but also cheapest option?

Solution
No, you have mixed an Intel CPU with an AMD motherboard.

i7-6700k (which is a bit older) requires Z170 or Z270 ideally. (Though H110, H170, H270, B150, or B250 would work)

AMDs B350 supports Ryzen CPUs. R5-2600 would be about equivalent to an an i7-6700k.

The GTX1080 will work in any motherboard with a PCIe x16 slot, which is all consumer motherboards aside from a few small form factor PCs.

I blame AMD for this one. They outright have been stealing Intel's next logical chipset names. AMD B350, Intel B360, AMD X399, Intel is now skipping to X599 since AMD is also releasing an X499.

Would a H110M-E work well with a 1080?

As I mentioned, any board with a PCIe x16 slot can accommodate any GPU. The real limits are the power supply and the physical size of the video card in relation to the chassis it goes in.

I suppose the real question is if you are buying all of this new. I don't see much reason for buying an i7-6700k when the i7-7700k is available. Pairing unlocked CPUs with a locked motherboard, also not so great. More so if the goal is budget gaming then something like the i5-8400/i5-8600k with its six cores and a B360/Z370 motherboard is the superior choice. Not to mention AMD Ryzen options.

I would post your budget and requirements to get a build tailored to your needs.

I have a prebuilt Pc but I want to upgrade.

Listed below are the parts

i7 6700k
H110m-E motherboard
GTX 560
8gb ram
Widetech 650w psu

I want to get a 1080 but not too sure if it will work with budget motherboard.
