Would a Galaxy (or Galax) GT 610 1GB Factory Overclocked GPU be able to run on a 300w PSU on this configuration?

I have a problem. I'm upgrading my family PC with an LGA 775 Core 2 Duo Q8300 and a GT 610. It says the GT 610 needs a minimum of a 300w PSU and my PSU is EXACTLY 300w! So I need help. Should I go ahead with the upgrade or should I get a new PSU? Here are the system specs:

Core 2 Quad Q8300 (95w)
Galaxy GT 610 1GB Factory Overclocked (29w)
Western Digital 300GB HDD
2GB ddr2 RAM
IPIBL-LB (Benicia) motherboard
1x dvd drive
1x some other drive (sorry, I really don't know)
300w Hipro PSU

It should be fine as you support the minimum with 300W. I would within a few months maybe get a new PSU just to be safe. I wouldn't say it is anything to be super worried about but the longer the PSU is attempting to power the higher wattage the chance for an unlikely but possible PSU failure is there. I think it is always nice to have at least 50W to spare but 100W is even better. It will be fine for now but again, in a few months I would buy a new one.

The PSU itself is fine but at 10 years old, it could fail at anytime. When a PSU fails, you risk damaging and destroying all the hardware inside your PC. I would get it swapped immediately. You can find nice cheap ones if you're on a budget.

Solid Gear is a young brand so it is cheap. I have had the 850W version for about 3 years now with no issues.

The Cooler Master is arguably better since they are a proven brand when it comes to reliability and performance.

Either way both of those PSU's should do you fine. Again, I would get a new PSU immediately knowing that one is over 10 years of age.
