Hi, was wondering if a 740nvidia card if it would work well together with either a 970 or a 980nvidia card with a core i7 920 1st gen nehelem processor with a intel smackover2 motherboard pcie 3.0
a 980/970 dosnt need dedicated physx cards lol besides, like less than 1% of games actually utilize it. If you are looking at the very high end of GPUs, perhaps you should also be looking at upgrading your cpu and motherboard.
A GT 740 will not serve too well as a PhysX card compared to a GTX 970. For games like Borderlands 2 and the Batman Arkham series, you should get at least a GTX 660 for PhysX. Also, your CPU will bottleneck a GTX 970 unless you overclock it.
well i was thinking since my cpu is getting old and i need a temporary graphics card other is in the shop and i might get a 970 or 980 down the road i was wondering due to my CPU limitations if it would work well as a dedicated physics card
