Would a Geforce Gtx 560 fit into my ASUS G73JW?

Would a Geforce GTX 560 fit into my ASUS G73JW? It came with a gtx 460 and it works well and can run BF3 with texture quality on Ultra and all the other settings on normal but I want it to be ultra on all the settings. So will it fit if i replace my 460 with a 560?

The 560 is basically just a 460 with higher clocked core and memory. You may want to consider a nice overclock for your 460.

The chart makes it easier to see that GeForce GTX 560 is essentially a GeForce GTX 460 overclocked to GeForce GTX 560 Ti levels.

If you want ultra settings you need a better card. What resolution??

You'll need at least a GTX580 for ultra settings at 1920x1080, and you still may get some stuttering. If you want ultra settings and ultra smooth gameplay at that resolution you'll need TWO GTX570's.

Nevermind, I just realized you have a laptop.

First of all, you do NOT have a GTX460, you have a GTX460m, which is no where even close to the performance of a desktop GTX460.

This is a big project and would be very expensive. You have to take the entire laptop apart and remove the motherboard to replace the gpu.

If you want to play BF3 on ultra settings, get a desktop computer.

So are you saying it's possible? I won't be getting a desktop because I need something that's portable so i want to cram whatever power i can into to this sucker. Even if i have to tear its guts out. 😀 Much thanks.

Plus what the geek said, don't push your mobile GPU on games a lot as it will make it very hot and could fry out the GPU chip. if you want to game all the time just stuck with a good gaming PC

Would you say a 460m is good for a gaming pc? And I'm not worried about over heating because this PC has a high tech built in cooler and on top of that I have it on a cooling pad I crank all the way up.

460m is mobile version, Gaming on PC depending on your gaming resolutions and CPU, RAM.
usually gaming @1080P requires high end GPU such as GTX 560Ti or HD 6950
