Would a GTX 1080ti shroud work on the GTX 980?

I recently bought a card on ebay that was DIY placed a GTX 1080ti Shroud on it... It's shipping now and the seller claims it works and the fan is just not working... He didn't say anything else in regards to power for the LED lights on the card. Is there a chance that the pin configuration on the 1080ti cooler is the same for the GTX 980? These are both FE coolers. If not, should i try to find a new cooler?

I would personally advise you to stay away from all the hotch podge DIY components found on Ebay. Just yesterday I indicated that there is no such thing as a G4580(where it's not even found on Intel's portfolio). Can you return to seller? For 160USD, I'm more than skeptical that it's working.

With all due respect I have reason to believe this guy is legit... He has a 14 day return policy which means if i don't get the tracking number by the time it's supposed to be shipped i can just ask for a return

I was asking in regards to if you would think the 1080ti cooler would work on the pin configuration. I bought it for 88.00 + 11.95 = $99.95
