Would a modified sine wave PC UPS for a PS4 be a disaster

Hi mates,

Long story short. My long serving GTX 460 died on me recently. With the Core 2 Quad becoming passe' in the gaming world I decided against buying her a new side kick (read GPU).
Considering the finances involved in buying a new rig and the fact that I had never owned a console previously, I decided to take a plunge and bought a PS4. I live by the country side and we experience frequent and erratic power cuts. By now the game save files had been corrupted atleast twice due to the power cuts while playing , that i went ahead and bought a Numeric 1kVa UPS yesterday. Only after I bought the UPS did I stumble upon something that read along the lines that the PS4 should be directly connected to the wall socket and not to a UPS , courtesy the modified sine wave offered by a cheapo UPS. I'm a bit confused , can i connect the console to the UPS without any negative effects or should i ditch my current UPS and buy a better UPS ? Please give your valuable inputs. Cheers.

Sorry buddy, the one that I bought was exactly half the dough that you've quoted and the instruction manual clearly read
' Quasi Sine wave form '.

Sorry about the late reply , this was the one that I bought : https://www.theitdepot.com/details-Numeric+Digital+1000+Plus+V+UPS_C37P22241.html
But should I be concerned about the modified sine wave ? Would the UPS be producing the modified sine wave only in the wake of a power cut or the entire time even when its transferring the current from the wall socket ?
Cheers.
