Would a PSU crash a game in the exact same spot every time?

Sorry for the long-winded title, but I think I have narrowed my game-crashing problem (in this case Battlefront) down to one component - the power supply. It is a 650w but I think there is a problem with it. My only question would be, in the past my psu woes have always been a random crashing and restarting thing....this time, my computer crashed at the exact same spot every time (at the game start up menu). Is this possible or does it point to an another component in my computer

I kinda ruled out the driver/graphics card issue because I 'have' kept up with driver upgrades. To be sure there wasnt some kind of conflict I went as far as to do a system reinstall. The card is new though. I bought it just to play this game. I always had ati cards but got nvidea this time. The onboard graphics is an ATI and I thought there may have been some conflict there but apparantly my motherboard disables onboard graphics when a pci card is used by default
