Would a sound card be better for me?

I have a Fatal1ty Killer board with purity sound on board. Realtek ac1150. Supposedly the specs are close to some nice sound cards.

Now, I'm not an audiophile or anything, but I do enjoy quality sound.

I'm curious if any ~$50 sound card would really make a difference in my sound. I have a set of A40s with a mix amp I'm using if that helps as well.

Can anyone with knowledge on sound technology tell me if my on board is really as good as asrock says?

I honestly don't think a $50 soundcard would do justice to a $200 set of headphones which are reputed to be pretty damned good! Also, that mobo with the Realtek 1150 sound chip offers 115db S/N, hard to find in most stand-alone soundcards.
