Hi all...
I need a little advice regarding a Vega 56 and Ryzen 2600 combination.
I've been offered a brand new Vega 56for £200 which from what I can see is a really good price, problem is I'm being told it's going be held back by my Ryzen 2600 @4.1..
My ram is running at 3200 (16gb)
My psu is an evga G3 650 (leadex 2)
My resolution is only 1080p @144hz on a Samsung monitor.....
Tl-dr am I wasting my money in the card ?
As I love high refresh rates at my current resolution for eSports titles ect...

Not to be redundant, but the vega 56 is powerful, and an overclocked 2600 is also very powerfull. Those 2 will make a very good combo. At 1080p you will likely going to be cpu limited, but the 2600 will provide very high framerates even if it isnt limited by the gpu.

Sorry for necro-ing this thread but could you please tell me what you mean about being cpu limited at 1080p? Would that be solved by getting a higher resolution? I want to get a 120hz monitor alongside the same build above and I can't help but feel like only on 1080p would the Vega 56 be able to get 120+ frames consistently on new games. So is it worth upping the resolution concerning the cpu limit thing and risking not getting the best framerate?

Your CPU may max out before your GPU does in most games at 1080p. You will still get good framerates.
Whether you can get 120fps at 1080p depends on games and settings. In general, yes you can.

If you up the resolution your cpu usage will go down but so will framerate as the GPU maxes out. As I said, well matched. It's not worth worrying about unless you get some cpu related stutter. Gsync fixes this as well.
