I was wondering if that cpu would work on this motherboard because on the website it says no but i looked around and some sites said it would but I don't want to get it and it doesn't work.

Solution
No, it won't work, starting with Skylake Intel locked the Xeons to server and workstation chipsets like C232 and C236, they won't work on consumer chipsets like Z170. Intel did this because the Xeons were cutting into the i7 sales as people were using the Xeons as a cheap alternative to the i7 and you can't have that.

Unless you want to track down a motherboard with a C232 or C236 chipset, you're going to need to buy an i7 6700 or i7 6700k if you need 4 cores and 8 threads on a Skylake platform.

Solution
ya, go with a haswell for cpu / OS compatibility ..

or as said above [if sli is not a issue ] if you want a more gaming xeon supported board as this one ?? [C232 chipset]

also the c232 chipset boards I don't believe has the windows 7 use issues as the 100 series chipset does
