Would adding Corsair XMS 3 to my build help or hinder?

I have 2x4Gb Corsair Vengeance (1600) currently in my build and have a spare 1x8Gb Corsair XMS 3 (1600) lying around.. If I added it to my build, would it add the extra 8gb of RAM without any hinderance to my system, or would it slow it down (etc)?

Try it,mixing ram can give problems,but testing is the only way to see if they work together.The only reason why it would hinder your system is that they won't work together.
