I realize the board is way too old to recognize the newer NVMe interface, but I was wondering if I put a PCIe to M.2 B-Key adapter in one of the unused PCIe x16 (x4) slots... if it would recognize an M.2 SATA drive on its PCIe interface.

Also... if I've misused some terminology in asking my question, please set me straight.

Yes it would work. It would also recognize a nvme drive as well if the addon card supports nvme and you are running W10, performance wise, I could not answer that.
