Would an i7 940XM @ 3.5Ghz bottleneck a GTX 970M in a laptop

As the title. My Alienware M15x happily runs the i7 940XM at 3.5Ghz. Would this bottleneck brand new games using a GTX 970M? I currently have a 7970M and to my knowledge, I don't experience any bottlenecking. Able to achieve 8457 physics score in 3D Mark.

You can upgrade that alienwares GPU? That's pretty awesome for a laptop.

If it's a quad core with 8 threads then i'd assume not.

Yes it has an MXM slot (laptop version of PCI-e) which is still the industry standard 4 years on. Waiting for Dell GTX 970M MXM cards to become available.
