A few days a ago i built my first pc its pretty high end however i seem to be getting the blue screen of death when its under load with the error message whea_uncontrolable_error i suspect the psu just cant provide that extra bit of power when its under load also i have used mem test and it came back with no problems aswell as intel cpu diagnostics tool also no problems anyway here are my system specs.

Psu: corsair cs550m gold (550w)
Case: Cm scout 2
Mobo:maximus vii hero
Cpu:i7 4790k oc15%
Gpu: asus gtx 780 directcu ii oc
Ram:16gb gskill ripjaw 1866
Corsair h80i cpu cooler
250gb samsung 840 ssd
2tb barracuda hdd
Plus 7 led case fans

Solution
Yeah at least a minimum of 600W PSU is required to power up a GTX 780 but I'd recommend a 650W one or a 700W just to be on the safe side, don't risk your rig by sticking to the minimum requirement

Solution
whea_uncontrolable_error
is directly generated via the CPU, most often caused by overclocking, sometimes by overheating.
you can get it also sometimes by power fluctuations to the CPU. Caused by overclocked GPU or underpowered GPU
but be sure to check your extra power connections to the graphics card. Sometimes people don't connect them properly
or put 2 connections on 1 line from the power supply.

note: you have a gold rated psu
550w * .9 (gold rating) = 495 watts available

I would look at other potential problems before I put in another PSU

Also the i7 requires 75-90w to work and he has also 2 2tb hdds, which need a lot of power to work.

Mobo: ASUS Maximus VII Hero ............ 38 W
CPU: i7 4790k OC15% ...................... 122 W
RAM: 16gb gskill ripjaw 1866 ................ 6 W
GPU: ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II OC ... 245 W Max when running FurMark Stability Testing (210 W when gaming)
2TB Barracuda HDD ............................. 10 W
250GB Samsung 840 SSD ..................... 1 W
7 LED Case Cooling Fans .................... 38 W
Corsair H80i CPU Cooler ..................... 18 W
Case: Cooler Master Scout 2 .............. 15 W

Total ................................................. 493 W

The Corsair CS550M is able to output the full 550 Watts specified on its label.

During gaming the system will be using around 457 Watts.
