Would an old motherboard affect fps?

Just as the title says I have an AMD FX 8350 and a GTX 1060 3gb card, and 8gb of ram but i'm getting very low fps in some games i should be able to run very smoothly, i.e fallout 4. Could my old motherboard be the problem for this? Thanks for your answers in advance!
