[SOLVED] Would BIOS Recognize this CPU? Part II

After reconsidering, I think this Ryzen A520M PRO motherboard would be better for a budget build than the last one I had in mind when I posted here. But strangely, there are no 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen CPUs listed in the CPU support list. I'm looking to put a R5-1600 (AF) in it. Surely it must be backward compatible, no?

No, it is not. ONLY 3000 and 5000 series Ryzen parts are compatible.

OK. Thanks guys. You guys saved me again. What changed with the 500-series boards that they are no longer backward compatible? Or is it just a manufacturer choice?

Lots of things are not supported technologies when compared to past generations. PCIe 4.0 being one of them.
