Question Would buying faster ram be worth it for my build?

I have 2133 mixed ram currently, I wanted to know if it's worth buying another faster set to get 2666 or if I should stick to what I have? I know my board only supports up to 2666mhz but the 3000mhz sets and 2400mhz sets are the same price.

If it were me I would stick with what you have because I don't see getting a whole lot going to all 2666 over 2133....but of course it can be argued that 2666 is faster and will perform better. I just don't think it will perform THAT much better to be worth it.

faster ram will help you in productivity tasks but the performance gain is slim

for gaming you won't notice a difference

the only difference you will notice is in benchmarks

my advice would be, if it is not free, don't bother

I'd like to add my ram runs in dual channel even tho they are mis matched running hwinfo show it running at 15-15-15-35 I was thinking to change them out based on them being mixed up if anything

With the prices of ram these days
Take full advantage of it.
I will leave ram speed for your system to the guys above but will suggest buying 2x8 for 16gb in a matched kit.
Better to have more now then prices go back up and need more then.

Well, if you are satisfied with your current RAM 2133mhz speed, there is no need to invest extra money for new set of RAM 2666 mhz.
