Hello, I'm planning to purchase rtx 3080 ti, but I don't know what version I should go with.

My current setup is the following:

I9-9900k @5 ghz and Corsair RM750x PSU. As I read on many different websites 750w of this PSU is enough for RTX 3080 ti, but is it enough for such cards like Asus Strix OC or MSI Suprim X (overclocked?) as their power consumption is way bigger than default ones like palit etc.

so this means I can get a 100$ 850w and it will run just fine? :)
this has absolutely no relation to reality, you can find that 850w is recommended for usual rtx 3080 on asus website, which just does not make any sense. There are threads where people say they run rtx 3080 with bronze 650w PSUs that the questions is not what is recommended but will it run fine on my exact psu.

Risk curve.

Running a 3080ti on a higher quality lower wattage PSU will probably be okay in the short term.

I could see it wearing down your PSU quicker. I could also envision scenarios where on occasion it throttles or shuts off.

Its perfectly reasonable that ASUS ran scenarios where the 750w tested fine, but they made it 850 to account for lower quality units.

We don't have a definite answer.

You can certainly try it. I don't think it will damage your card.
