Question Would I be able to get a 144Hz refresh rate with a QHD monitor hooked up to my laptop, or will it not reach that refresh rate?

Another question on top of that. My laptop screen has a 2ms response time. Is that because my laptop can only support that or is that just the type of display? I am new to PC gaming and am trying to figure everything out.

Response time is a specification specific to the monitor. The only thing you need to worry about from the GPU is what output type it has because that determines resolution and refresh rate.
