Would I benefit from upgrading to a Intel i7?

I have i5 4590 paired with a AMD R9 390 and 8gb Ram. So far I can run most games at high to ultra settings with toning down some settings a bit. Some games I still can't manage to run (watch dogs) even on low settings! So I wanted to upgrade to an i7 4790k, but not sure if I would gain any benefits from it?

Solution
You don't need to upgrade at all. Like boosted said, you should be running most things maxed out or nearly so. This isn't a bottlenecking issue.

Oh and there is no 4590k.

Admirable
Sure there are benefits but none that would be noticeable enough to justify the cost.

I find it hard to believe that you can't run Watch Dogs on low when I have a buddy that played on high with a single GTX 760.

I know I find it extremely weird too! I used to have a r9 280 which would not run it at all without lag on any settings so when I tried running it with the r9 390 I was surprised to find that it would still not run at 60fps on not even on low! So it pissed me off and deleted the game. Lol

Yeah there's a couple games I have trouble running (watch dogs, crysis ,gta v) Nd I have no idea why. And unfortunately the i5 can't be over clocked.

Are your GPU drivers up to date?

Yeah I freshed installed when I switched GPU so those should be fine. Also checked temps and they never seem to go out of the ordinary.
