I want to plug in my laptop to an external monitor I just wanted to ask if my Lenovo Legion y530 gtx 1050ti can output 144hz if the monitor is capable of 144hz? The monitor is MSI Optix MAG240VC 23.6" LED Curved. I talked to their support but it seems like they did not understand me. Thank you

I suppose you want to use it for games?

If for gaming and if the resolution is 1080p, with a 1050Ti I don't think you can reach 144 fps in many games at high or even maybe medium graphic settings. The monitor if 144Hz would be able to handle 144 fps but the graphics card would struggle to go over or even reach 100 fps in many games, especially if it's the core i5 version of Y530.

Of course to some extent gaming performance depends on the game title and how you set the graphics but anyway 144Hz with that GPU is a no go.

That wasn't his question, he asked if the external monitor could display 144hz.
