[SOLVED] Would I need a new PSU if I upgraded?

I am eyeing an i7-10700k, Maximus XII Hero & Noctua-U12A.

Would I need a new PSU?

My current build:
CASE: Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced ATX Full Tower
MOBO: Asus P8Z77-V LK ATX LGA1155
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz (3.9 TURBO) Quad-Core
COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: Zotac GTX 1080 AMP Extreme 8GB
PSU: Corsair Professional 750W 80+ Gold Certified
MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
SDD: 2X Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5"

Since you're currently using a Z77 board I'm going to date your build somewhere around 2012. If your PSU is that old too you may want to consider an upgrade. You'll also need new memory since DDR3 is not used anymore. Your upgrades will easily cost you $800-900 USD(not including new memory) so a new PSU would be a good investment since yours is easily 8 years old or older.

Thanks for responding. This build was from 2014. However, I did upgrade from GTA780 to GTX 1080 in... I think 2016.

Since you're currently using a Z77 board I'm going to date your build somewhere around 2012. If your PSU is that old too you may want to consider an upgrade. This comes out to $1141 (I was trying to keep it under $100 but I don't want regrets). I understand I could go with Ryzen which I've read is besting Intel right now and with lower prices but I really wanted to have the boost clock over 5.0GHZ for gaming. I'm not an overclocker, too nervous about it. Now it seems I need a PSU too. Can you recommend one?

Aside from that, Could you suggest a better way to spend my money?

I know. I felt that if I replied simply that I built it in 2014, it would send red flags because GTX 1080 didn't release until 2016.

Eventually, I'd migrate to a newer, smaller, more refined chassis with a mesh front and install an m.2 NVME drive for OS/apps and use the other SSD's for bulk storage and ditch the old spinner drive. There's just no need for them anymore. The ROG board is nice, maybe nicer than you need but if you have the cash I won't try to talk you out of it.

That's why people buy pc so they can upgrade.

Might have happened with the psu as well and maybe with 6 years old it has some life left in it. Don't know which type, but if it has for instance a 7 year warranty might it still be fine unless using it for folding at home 24/7.

750W is suffice if not a bit too much.

Since your gfx is going to be GTX1080 and cpu i7 (10th gen)I wouldn't worry. If you were going to upgrade the gfx card, then it may become an issue, but I had suffice power for my i7-7700K (I know my sig says I have a 850W, but my 750W was in use with it) for a long time.

Of course its enough, it's a decent psu and would run your newer spec pc no problems.

Components have become more efficient over the years. Thus needing less and less power.
