I currently have an Intel core 2 duo e6700, I am thinking about upgrading to a Pentium G3220. I don't have a large budget and would I notice a performance difference between the 2 CPU's. I do some gaming and I think my Core 2 DUO E6700 bottlenecks my GTX 660.

Solution
The G3220 is a very fast and inexpensive CPU. It is about 55-70% faster than the Core 2 E6700..on average in most applications. You can get a reasonably cheap PC around a LGA1150 socket MB and a Pentium G3220. I was going to use this CPU is a build for my sister until she decided she wants a new iMAC....The G3220 should work well with the GTX 660 the 660 is a mid range GPU and a fast dual core would work just fine in many games. CPU intensive games might be an issue ie BF4 but I cannot see a big problem with that CPU+GPU combo you want.
Yes, the G3220 is much stronger, and your C2D probably bottlenecks your 660. The G3220 might still bottleneck a 660 in some games, but not nearly as much or as often, not enough to worry about.

However, I'm pretty sure they use different sockets so you'd need a new motherboard as well for at least $50 extra.
